Eastern Avenue fully open again as East Harbour builders thank Riverside and Leslieville
Metrolinx and the East Harbour Transit Hub Alliance held a community appreciation event on Saturday, October 24 at the East Harbour Station construction site, and confirmed that Eastern Avenue is fully reopened for motorists and cyclists heading downtown after several months of westbound lane restrictions.
The alliance — Metrolinx with AtkinsRéalis, Bird Construction and Hatch — met residents over refreshments and shared updates on the hub, which will serve the Riverside and Leslieville neighbourhoods with connections to GO Transit and the Ontario Line subway. The builders thanked residents for their patience during construction and said they are working with the Riverside and Leslieville BIAs on more community events in the coming weeks and months.
