The 104th Royal Agricultural Winter Fair opens in Toronto on Friday — and its youngest ambassadors are commuting in today. Twin Angora goats Sugar and Spice ride the GO Train this morning, Thursday, November 5, from Scarborough GO to Union Station.
The arrival
The goats are the Royal's 2026 animal ambassadors. Their train is scheduled to arrive at Union Station at 10:22 a.m., and the Fair is marking the trip as the official kickoff of this year's edition.
The Royal has partnered with GO Transit for the run of the Fair. Combination passes pair round-trip GO travel from any station with general admission to the Fair at Exhibition Place.
The Fair itself
The Royal runs November 6 to 15 at Exhibition Place, in the Enercare Centre and Coca-Cola Coliseum at 100 Princes' Boulevard. It is the world's largest combined indoor agricultural and equestrian show, and it has brought the country to the city every November for 104 years.
This year's Chef's Table dining series opens with Jason Bangerter of Langdon Hall on November 6, followed by David Schwartz of Linny's on November 7. Nuit Regular cooks on November 12, Coulson Armstrong on November 13, and Zach Smith and Ben Lim close the series on November 14.
Admission and the full daily schedule are at royalfair.org. The Chronicle's events listings carry the Fair through its closing day, Sunday, November 15.
Opening day
Update, Friday, November 6: Sugar and Spice made their trip on Thursday, and the 104th Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is now open at Exhibition Place. The Chronicle's opening-day coverage is published this morning; the Fair runs through Sunday, November 15.
