Election day guide: how to vote in Toronto tomorrow, Monday, October 26

Published Sunday, October 25, 2026 · Last updated Sunday, October 25, 2026

Election day is Monday, October 26, and voting places are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. You vote for mayor, for the councillor in your ward, and, if eligible, for a school board trustee. Use the City of Toronto's MyVote tool to find the voting place assigned to your address and to download or print your digital voter information card.

Bring one piece of identification showing your name and your Toronto address. Photo identification is not required, and the voter information card on its own does not count as identification. If your name is not on the voters' list, you can still add it in person at your voting place on election day. To vote you must be a Canadian citizen, 18 or older on election day, a Toronto resident or a non-resident owner or renter of Toronto property (or the spouse of one), and not prohibited from voting under any law.

If you cannot get to a voting place, you can appoint another eligible Toronto voter as your proxy; the appointment form is certified by the City Clerk up to 4:30 p.m. on election day. (City of Toronto, toronto.ca)
